seven up friendship
"A man that hath friends must first shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Proverbs 18:24
"And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 For a friend of mine in this journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not" the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. 8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth." Luke 11:5-8 (GN)

1.Shut Up... Learn to listen.
2.Stand Up... Be a support
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
3.Show Up... Be there
Prov 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
4.Speak up... .Faithful words
Prov 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Prov 27:9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's
friend by hearty counsel.
When you care about someone, sometimes you tell them things that although they need
to hear, they may not always want to hear.
5.Make up... Forgiveness and reconcile
A note left after an argument...Dear Husband, I hate You, Love, your wife.
Prov 17:9 NKJV He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter
separates friends.
The people you love the most can get through to you. If you don't care for someone, then
it wouldn't bother you.
6.Re up.... Periodically count book of friends, list of things...
3 John 14 But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to
thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.
Simply, reinvest. Take stock of your friendships and what they mean to you.
7.Look up... Friends are gifts from God
John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord
doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have
made known unto you.
Look up (to heaven/God) and thank Him for your friends.
Matt 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man
gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of
her children.
James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was
imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world
is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Prov 16:28 A perverse man sows strife, And a whisperer separates the best of friends.
NKJV
Mark 3:21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they
said, He is beside himself.
Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends,
and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on
thee.
